Responding to the mandate for change in healthcare Human Resources, ASHHRA's HR Leadership Initiative™ is committed to inspiring and guiding our members to new skill levels. We pledge to continue the work of AHA's "In Our Hands" because it is our work as well.

We believe that by joining together, by raising our skills and by speaking together in one "VOICE" we can advance the cause for HR Leadership in all of our healthcare organizations.

Our goals are to:
Identify the prerequisite core competencies for HR leaders in healthcare; and Determine how ASHHRA can support current HR professionals in bridging the gap to reach these competencies.

Following the success of "The Anatomy of an HR Leader," ASHHRA has created a Steering Committee to guide the efforts of three Work Groups. They have been empowered to:
  • Develop a learning curriculum with products, resources, tools and training,
  • Collaborate with key healthcare audiences and partners, and
  • Support ASHHRA's Leadership Initiative™ through outreach.

ASHHRA has introduced its healthcare-specific HR Leader Model which is available here.
